Faculty for Food Technology, Food Safety and Ecology, University Donja Gorica (FFTFSE) – Is a young research institution that has competencies in the named areas, and has a mission to contribute to solving societal and developmental problems through applied research. Being young, Faculty is working on the improvement of its human capacities, especially in the fields of innovation, as well as extending its collaboration networks across sectors. Through this project, the Faculty would benefit from expert training, inputs from the economy sector (producers and the market) on which to base its current and future research, and exchange of information and experience with the project partners and beneficiaries. Also, project implementation will help raise management capacities of FFTFSE staff. Project would engage experienced staff (3 permanently employed research stuff and one administrative), but will also provide an opportunity for new students to elaborate final year and Masters thesis. In such a way, the project would offer an oportunity for specialisation, and contribute to the development of Montenegrin research community in the field of food safety and technology.
Regional Development Agency (RDA) - was established in 2009 with support of Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and upon the initiative of local partners. Mission of RDA is development of northern part of Montenegro through close cooperation of all stakeholders in public and private sectors, increase absorption of EU funds and creation of new job opportunities, mainly through tourism and agriculture. Objectives of the RDA are reducing regional socio-economic gap, increasing own capacities as well as those of partner organizations, sharing knowledge and implementation of development projects. Agency has significant experience in developing and branding of traditional agricultural products, which would share with partners in this project, and would also acquire new knowledge in the field of food safety and technology.
Eko Mont D.O.O. - is a small enterprise from Bijelo Polje and has its own farm with 10 dairy cows and 5 calfs. The enterprise has been founded as primary family busines, eploying 2 more persons to work on the farm. Eko Mont has its own production facility and suitable equipment for the production of a traditional local cheese - Koristki cheese, with the capacity of 600L/day. The level of fulfilment of hygienic requirements in this facility is on the satisfactory level, however it does not have any relevant certification in place (such as HACCP), which will be provided by this project. They are also seeking an opportunity to modify and improve their production technology, all of which will improve their competitiveness and help them reach new markets.
